This 40 weight thread is heat and flame resistant and is geared toward protective clothing, workwear and race car uniforms. It has a temperature resistance of 572 degrees fahenheit. Fire Fighter is made from 100% Aramid, the fibre used for Nomex®. Fire Fighter complies with ISO standards. Available in a wide range of 24 popular colors, which correspond to Madeira´s 100% polyester Polyneon. Fire Fighter comes in 1100 yard spools.
It is recommended that a 80/12 size needle be used for this thread. The thread fills the needle hole in the garment, so it does not compromise the integrity of the fabric.
100% Aramid white bobbin thread is also available on 5,500 yard cones.
